| Student Government Speeches | All SGA candidates will make their speeches on Thursday, September 9th during the lunch periods. If you do not make a speech you will not be able to run. | | | Girls' Soccer | It is not too late to sign up for girls' soccer. The girls' soccer team needs at least two more players (we have a short supply of substitutes). Please speak with Coach Young ASAP. Get your sports physicals and $25 athletic fee ASAP as well. | | | Parents! Please Join Us... | Parents, please join us for our first annual READING NIGHT at Tyner Academy. Your children were to have read Hero Ain't Nothing but a Sandwich for summer reading. Borrow a copy and come share in the fun of discussion, fellowship with other parents and in attending a Seminar led by Tyner English teachers. Your child will receive a 100 test grade for bringing the book and participating in the discussion and you will receive volunteer hours in a relaxed setting. Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. There will be refreshments provided. Call Mrs. Kim Wheeler for further details. See you there! | | | SkillsUSA | If you have been or currently are in the following classes you can be a member of SkillsUSA: Drafting, HVAC, Project Lead the Way, Automotive Classes, or TV Broadcasting. Skills USA meeting will be Monday, 9/20, after school at 4:10 p.m. in room 600. We will be voting on this year's officers. Have your voice heard...come and VOTE! Possible field trip for paid members to the UT College of Engineeerings' Engineering Day at the end of October. Additional meeting dates will be announced once we know the participation level. | | | College Fair for all students FREE | Silverdale Baptist Academy which is located down the street on Bonnie Oaks drive is holding its annual National Christian College Fair. If you have never attended a college fair this is one to attend. These Colleges are small and are looking for students who want an imitate setting to learn. They offer you a different perspective in college life you may not receive at a larger University or College. The fair is Thursday, September 30th at 6:30 to 8:30 pm. We have about 4 seniors a year to attend Christian College and all of them have received full scholarship. See Ms. Waller if you have questions.

| | | Research Team: Scholarship Data | | If you are computer savvy and enjoy researching data, the guidance office needs your help creating an “Electronic Scholarship Newsletter.” All information would need to be researched from home and submitted to the team leader.
