| Now Taking Nominations for Tyner Hall of Fame | The Tyner Academy Hall of Fame Committee is currently taking nominations for the 2nd Hall of Fame Induction. They are looking for Tyner High School and Tyner Academy Graduates who have made significant lifetime achievements and contributed to their communities either locally, nationally or globally. | Beta Club and Honor Society | Students who are members of the National Honor Society do NOT have to pay for their graduation insignia. If they wish to wear the Beta sash, they must pay $14.50 to Mr. Walls by April 1. Ms. Ovington has a sample if they would like to see it. | | | Beta Club very important to get the word to our students | There has been little response to the Beta Club/Honor Society Banquet. We MUST have a check in the amount of $9.50 per person by MONDAY, MARCH 15 or we will need to cancel with Moss' place. Please help us get the word out. Mrs. Jones is taking the money for the banquet. Seniors who wish to wear the Beta sash MUST pay 14.50 to Mr. Walls by April 1. Students will be allowed to wear both Beta and Honor Society insignia this year. | | | Academies Field Trip Meeting | There is a mandatory parent meeting for the Orlando Academies field trip on Tuesday March the 16th at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. A parent or guardian must attend. | | | Science Academy Juniors & Seniors | Students who are behind on Senior Project deadlines MUST report to the Science Academy after school computer lab Monday-Thursday (4:15-5:45) until work is caught up. Monday & Wednesday is in Mrs. Callegari's room and Tuesday & Thursday is in the upstairs Computer Lab room 324 with Mrs. Butler. Failure to report to the After School Computer Lab assignment will result in a full week of Evening School. | | | Seniors - Listen Up! | It's time to begin submitting your senior picture to me (it does not have to be a formal senior picture but it must be school appropriate). You can drop an electronic picture in my dropbox (make sure it is saved with your name) or you can bring me a hardcopy. Hardcopies need your name on the back. If you have not made your picture appointment yet, and are planning to have pictures made, you need to do so immediately in order to ensure you get your pictures back by my deadline, March 12. I cannot accept “proof” pictures b/c they say PROOF across them. If you do not submit a picture, your school picture will be used.
The picture that is submitted will be used on the senior PowerPoint which is shown at the senior dinner and at graduation.

| | | Lab Open After School | Mrs. Murphy's lab in the career tech building opens up on Thursday, 1/21. It will be open every Monday and Thursday from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.
She also has muffins and juice for sale from 4:00 to 4:15 p.m. for any students wishing to purchase them. Muffins are $0.75 and juice is $0.50. | | | Online Registration | We are now enrolling students into online courses. | Beta Club Dinner | Volunteers are needed to help set-up, serve, and clean up for the Beta Club dinner.

| | | Ballroom Dancing & Waltz | Tyner Academy is in need of someone to teach Ballroom Dancing and the Waltz to students for the Prom. If you are an expert, please contact Mrs. Wheeler at 855-2635 ext. 255. | | | Financial Aid Night for Juniors | | Parents and students of juniors who are planning to attend college and would like to get an early start on their Financial Aid options are invited to attend a financial aid workshop on Thursday, March 11 at 5:45 in the Studies Room. A Financial Aid expert from Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation and the Guidance Department will be here to answer your questions and concerns.
