Tyner Academy

The prom will be hald at the Chattanoogan Hotel on Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.  The tickets are $35 for a single and $50 for a couple.  The tickets will go on sale Thursday, February 23, during the lunch period only.  For further questions, see Mr. Scruggs.

Tyner Academy of Math, Science and Technology is currently accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame induction. We are looking for Tyner High School and Tyner Academy graduates who have made significant lifetime achievements and contributed to their communities locally, nationally or globally.  The deadline to submit nominations is March 23, 2012.  The induction ceremony will be held on April 26, 2012.  Nomination forms may be picked up at the Tyner Academy main office, or you can download the form using the link below.

The City of Chattanooga is ofering Drivers Ed Classes at the Tyner Rec Center.  There is a $50 fee, the dates are March 13 thru April 18 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (no class the week of Spring Break).  These classes do fill up fast.  Information and an application can be downloaded at http://www.chattanooga.gov/Public_Works/70_Driversed.htm.

All ACS/Advisors have been provided an info/application packet.  If you are interested, please ask your 3rd block teacher for a photocopy. 

The National Honor Society and Beta Club induction will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24.  Officers and inductees will need to be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. for a picture and to be seated for the ceremony.

If you are struggling in ANY MATH CLASS, this is for you!  You will need to bring a pass from your advisor and whatever assignment that you you working on. 

Congratulations to DeAngelo James for placing 2nd in the TSSAA State Wrestling Tournament.  He finished with an impressive 42-1 record this season.  This is the first time a Tyner wrestler has placed in the State Tournament in 20 years.  Way to go, Delo!

Boy's Basketball finished 4th in the District.  Girl's Basketball finished 3rd in the District.  They will play in the Region this weekend.  Congratulations!

There will be a Football Booster Club Meeting on Monday, 3/5, at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  The meeting is to elect new officers. Anyone interested in accepting a position please attend.  This is the last year for the current officers and a very important election.  The team needs you!

The Football Banquet is now being held at the Chattanooga Convention Center on February 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Unless you have already confirmed your attendance, you will NOT be admitted. 

The 2011-12 Football Banquet will be held on Saturday, 2/25, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Chattanooga Choo Choo Crystal Room.  Confirmation forms have to be completed and returned with payment by Friday, 2/10, or you will not be admitted.

All players, coaches, and guests must confirm their attendance.  All players who paid mandatory fees (insurance and meals) will be admitted at no cost along with the coaches.  For everyone else the cost is as follows:

12 & up - $20

under 12 - $15
