I graduated in ____, how can I get a copy of my transcript?
There is a $3.00 charge for an official, sealed transcript. The money (cash--exact change please or check made out to Tyner Academy) must be received before the transcript can be picked up or mailed. Please call the main office at 423/855-2635 ext. 233 and ask for Mrs. Turner to make arrangements for picking up a transcript.
To request a transcript by mail, download a copy of the transcript request form. Mail the completed form to Tyner Academy, attention Bette Edmonson, along with a check or money order for three dollars.
How much are the school fees?
The school fee is $75.00 for the year $37.50 per semester.
Does this need to be paid at one time?
No. You may make payments.
Who do I pay these fees to?
Please have your child pay his/her advisor or teacher. They are responsible for making sure these fees are collected. Parents that come in to pay fees may pay the bookkeeper.
What other fees are there?
Science fees - $25.00, Art fees - $20.00, Some clubs have fees too. Talk to the various club sponsor for these amounts. Follow this link for a list of school fees.
I'm on free/reduced meals. Does that automatically mean I do not have to pay fees?
No. Some fees must be paid.
Please remember that we do not keep cash at this school. When paying these fees, please bring the correct amount.
Does my child have any outstanding debts?
Call the bookkeeper, Mrs. Bargerstock, at 855-2635, ext. 222 for this information. This information is updated throughout the school year as teachers turn in debts, so you may wish to call periodically. Also, if a student has any outstanding debts, their report cards are held. They will receive a form showing their debts instead of receiving their report cards.
If I pay for a lost book, and my child finds it, can I get my money back?
Yes. The teacher must inform the bookkeeper that the textbook has been turned in. Then the bookkeeper will refund the money.
How many credits do I need to be a sophomore, junior, senior?
Sophomore 6; Junior 12; and Senior 20.
What is the difference between the university, technical, and dual tracks?
(The university track must have two foreign languages and a fine art, plus 9 electives. The technical must have four technical classes in the same cluster, plus eight electives. The dual path combines the two paths, all requirements for the university path plus the four classes in the same technical cluster is included in the electives.
What is articulation?
This is when your technical classes are worth college credit at a technical community college, such as Chattanooga State. This is given after the fact when paperwork is filled out by the counselor and student.
What is a FAFSA?
A free application for federal student aid. This form is the way fro students to be hooked up with financial aid from both state and federal funds. This form is filled out by SENIORS ONLY and includes tax information from both their parents and themselves. The from is turned in no earlier than January 1st, and no later than June 30th. Every college has their own deadlines for this form. Also on this form, the student lists all colleges they are thinking about attending. The information generated by this form, called the SAR (or student aid report) is then sent to each school, and then each school sends the student a financial aid package.
