Tyner Academy

Students at Tyner Academy are required to complete their summer reading and will be tested during the first two weeks of the fall semester. Our goal this year is to emphasize reading for enjoyment. Direct any questions to an English teacher.
 

All Students in Regular English Classes (9-12) will read

• The First Part Last – by Angela Johnson

Honors English 10 will read

• I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings – by Maya Angelou

    AND

• The Moon is Down - by John Steinbeck

Honors English 11 will read

• The Coldest Winter Ever - by Sister Souljah

Dual Enrollment / AP English 12 will read

• Maus I - by Art Spiegelman (you must have your own copy when school begins)
